Our Pastor

Reverend Joel Shirley is the Senior Pastor of the Yorkwood Church of God. He presently presides over a multiple ministry church with over 400 members.
Pastor Shirley assumed the duties and responsibilities of this great church in March, 2005 after serving 14 years as pastor of the Chapel Grove Church of God. Prior to this, he spent 10 additional years as an itinerate evangelist accepting special speaking engagements and conducting revival ccrusades.

Since his coming to the Yorkwood Church, the church has excelled in many areas: spiritually, numerically, evangelistically and financially. Under his leadership, the church as eliminated all debt. With all of the positive things that have been done,

Pastor Shirley still maintains his focus on the main thing: “Winning the Lost for Christ”.

A native of Camden, South Carolina, Reverend Shirley received his Bachelor of Biblical Studies from East Coast Bible College and Lee University, Cleveland Tennessee. He has been credentialed with the International Church of God for 30 years and presently serves as an Ordained Bishop. He shares his ministry with his wife Sebrena, whom he has been married to for 29 years. They have two children, Brian and Danielle.
