Meet Our Pastors
Pastor Chris and Charity Kennedy

Pastor Chris is no stranger to our Yorkwood family. In the fall of 1999, he and his family came to Yorkwood to serve as our Youth Pastors. There was an immediate connection within the body and the student ministry began to grow under Pastor Chris’ leadership.

In the summer of 2003, Pastor Chris returned to his roots as a State Evangelist for the Church of God in Western North Carolina. While in this role, he traveled throughout the southeastern states visiting over 14 states and hundreds of churches. He’s always had a burden for Yorkwood and when the opportunity to return in May 2022, he knew this was an assignment from the Lord.

He has a burden for souls and longs to see the manifest presence of the Lord experienced by all who come through the doors of Yorkwood. Pastor Chris’s moto for ministry can be found in Ephesians 3:20, “Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to the power of God that works in us.”

Charity Lynn grew up as a Pastor’s daughter in Missouri. She began singing at the age of 3 and started playing piano at 10. She’s always been involved with the church using her talents as Choir leader, Praise & worship leader, and pianist.  She also sings professionally across the county spreading the gospel through song. Her love and compassion for the youth has also been a strong passion of hers. She’s always been heavily involved with young people.  She worked with a Children’s home for many years. She shares the same goals and passion as Pastor Chris does, “showing compassion to the hurting and love to all who come to Yorkwood and making a difference in every life they may encounter.”
